Located in the popular neighbourhood of Queen West, Destingo is an easy-to-spot restaurant. Their patio is as big as their indoor dining room, perfect for summer lunches and dinners. Decor is a combination of authentic, rustic and modern pieces. The kitchen is tucked away behind a wall, but it’s still open to half of the dining room. Staff members are friendly and observant.

Sally and I came for dinner. We were greeted immediately and were seated on the shaded patio. We ordered two dishes to share, Vitello Destingo and Spaghetti Di Mare. While we waited for our entrees, our waiter brought us complimentary home made cranberry bread with butter. It was something nice and light to snack on while we waited for our food.

Vitello Destingo – Veal scaloppine with baby scallops, cremini mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. It was delicious and cooked wonderfully, but definitely not filling. It was drenched in a beautiful tomato base sauce that added a lot of flavour to the meat. The roasted vegetables weren’t bad either, fresh and lightly seasoned.
Spaghetti Di Mare – Mixed seafood with white wine broth. Clean and tasty broth paired with fresh and simple spaghetti. I really enjoyed the broth!
