Delucious.ca was generous enough to send me samples of their homemade banchan (Korean side dishes). They are a local family delivering banchan in the Toronto area. If you’re wondering where to get your hands on side dishes other than kimchi, take a look at Delucious.ca. In my sample pack, I received kimchi, radish, cabbage, seaweed, spinach, and beansprouts.

I went straight for the kimchi and it was spicy, salty, sour with loads of flavour. Yum! I had a tub of store-bought kimchi sitting in the fridge too, so I decided to compare the two. They almost tasted exactly the same, I love eating this with rice. Seaweed is my second favourite and it tasted like how it should. With a hint of sesame oil.

The next four side dishes were alright. The spinach was lightly seasoned. The cabbage and radish were both spicy and fresh. The beansprouts were just alright, I’ve had better – I think it was missing sesame oil and a dash of seasoning. If you miss your mom’s banchan or you want to explore different types of banchan, look up Delucious!
