Sushi Legend

Our family friends highly recommended the restaurant and I also read fantastic reviews on Zomato. Just to be on the safe side, we made a reservation before heading out. The restaurant was easy to find with plenty of parking in the plaza. To our surprise, the restaurant was packed with customers waiting outside. It was a Thursday night and we didn’t expect to see it at full capacity.Read More »

The Westerly

I used to visit Toronto pretty often to see my grandparents or catch up with my good friend, Silly Sally. But ever since she chased her dreams and moved to New York City, my trips to Toronto have simmered down. There are thousands of restaurants out there and I’m not sure if I’ll ever try them all. It’s so hard to pick a restaurant to dine at because both Sally and I cannot make fast decisions. It usually takes us a couple of days to research and decide on a place to stuff our faces. She was back in the city, so of course we met up for brunch. We booked a reservation since Torontonians LOVE their brunch and most places are insanely packed.Read More »

The Works Burger

I’ve been meaning to check out The Works ever since my friend, Bobby, recommended it to me. Back then, I only knew of their Guelph location but now they’ve opened two locations in Hamilton. I was invited to check out the ‘Get Stuff’d’ menu and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on those burgers. On their regular menu, they have tons of burger combinations (41 to be exact) and toppings for you to choose from. Of course, you can create your own masterpiece or choose from their recipes.Read More »

Southern Smoke Barbecue House

You’ve probably  seen the Southern Smoke Truck driving around Hamilton and Toronto, well, they opened a restaurant! Their concept of ‘pit-to-table’ is permanently at 201 Ottawa Street North. Just a few doors down from Black Sheep and Except for Kenneth, Southern Smoke Barbecue House occupies a large space with an open kitchen, dining area, ordering counter, and a hand-washing station (because we all know how messy BBQ food can get!). Take out is available but if you can’t wait to dig into some southern comfort food there is plenty of seating too. This is a super casual restaurant where you order food at the counter before you sit down. Basically a fast food joint with better food. They are also licensed so you can enjoy a pint or two or three with your hardy meal.Read More »

Bangkok Spoon Deluxe

Bangkok Spoon Deluxe

Bongkok Spoon Deluxe is located in the charming town of Dundas, right on King Street West. It’s easy to find with street parking all around. The quaint and historic-looking stores on King Street sell clothing, specialty food, and local crafts. Restaurants and cafes are also scattered throughout. While most storefronts have classic Victorian architecture with large windows and stone detail, Bangkok Spoon stands out with a modern look and feel using reddish-brown wood paneling. Inside, you’ll find a spacious dining area with good taste. Elements of authentic Thai décor enhance the room creating a classy and approachable atmosphere.Read More »

Lake Road Grand Opening Gala

Hamilton’s restaurant scene is booming and expanding so quickly, I can barely keep up. Well, actually, I can’t keep up. Lake Road is one of the newest additions to the popular James Street North nieghbourhood. Owners Chef Dan Megna and Laurie Lilliman, of Twisted Lemon have graced Hamilton with their “refine dining” concept. From Twisted Lemon‘s website, “The driving force behind Twisted Lemon is that, ‘fine dining is great food and great service, and is an experience that all should enjoy’.” This is what you’ll find at Lake Road too!Read More »
