You might have seen some posts floating around on social media about Merit Brewing‘s one year celebrations. Well, I’ve got some deets for you. Along with their fun-filled collabs with Hamilton’s awesome restaurants and businesses, they’re also pushing out new craft beer and new menu items. Ok, first things first, My 28th & 29th at 7pm, dig into a 5-course meal with beer pairings. This is an insane collaboration with 10 passionate and local restaurants and to get the word out, Merit invited us to talk about the event and to introduce new additions to their kick-ass menu!

These humans put their heart and soul into everything they produce and we are so fortunate they call Hamilton, home. The celebration dinner is $75/person and tickets are available at Merit’s Bottle Shop or online. If you’re into the sausage scene at Merit, I’m excited to let you know that there are 3 new tubes of meat: Nashville Hot Chicken Sausage, Taco Falafel Dog, and Cauliflower Bhaji Sausage. The Nashville sausage has a good kick to it. I’m all about the spice that doesn’t completely take out my taste buds! If you’re curious about their other sausages, I gotchu: Jerk, Butter Chicken, Cheddar Smokie, Nashville, Philly, and Carnitas.

Want something light with your beer? The Spring Salad is bright and fresh with granola, golden beets, dried cranberries, and apple chips drizzled with a vinaigrette. Another nice snacky snack for the table is their pepperoni flight! Other than beer flights, they’ve introduced a pepperoni flight. Perfect for ME! It has their classic fried pep, pickled, pep, and pepperette. And hello, FRIES SUPREME. I love having veg or crunchy toppings to cut the heaviness!

Throughout our tasting, we sipped on California Never Felt Like Home (cirtrus-forward IPA) and SVP SVP with sous vide pineapple! They turned one of their massive tanks into a sous vide machine! Ya know, just thinking outta the box! We finished the night with a decadent Chai Milk Stout brownie with white chocolate, chai drizzle, and spent grain crumble. It was rich and luxurious, I couldn’t stop eating it. If you’re a savoury kind of person, this dessert might turn you into a sweets person. I was addicted.

In other news, you can enjoy your beer while soaking up the sun on their patio! It’s a nice little spot a the back, away from the bustling traffic from James Street but still chillin in downtown. My favourite spot is their nook on the left side, they even have pillows set out for boney-ass people like me.
