Gourmet Burger Company

I lived around the corner from one of these and I was curious about their menu. Every time I visited, I ended up with a filled and happy belly. The location I went to had a clean, gray environment.

Schwartz’s

My visit to Montreal was short, but I was determined to stuff my face with the best it had to offer. My coworkers suggested Schwartz’s Deli and L’Express. With only one full day in Montreal, we squeezed in these two restaurants into our packed day. We headed to Schwartz’s after visiting the Olympic Stadium. Since it was almost 2 in the afternoon, I didn’t think we were going to have to wait for a table. I was wrong. We were next in line for 4 seats, so we waited about 10 minutes AND the line grew behind us! Schwart’s also has a take out counter just next door! If you don’t want the full dining experience, just take your sandwich to-go. I should’ve taken 100 to go.Read More »

St. Patrick's Day Hangover Noms

What do Canadians eat after St. Patty’s Day?

Feeding yourself during the morning-after is important but not important enough to prep and cook a healthy meal to cure that hang over. What do you crave? Do you like to order-in, adventure out to a restaurant or continue drinking?

For people who like to stay home and nurse their bodies, Just-Eat.ca noticed that Canadians like to order chow mein, pizza and sushi. We also like to devour poutine, butter chicken, gyros and hot, steaming bowls of pho. I’d say eating a bowl of pho would be the best option because you get delicious noodles and you’re also hydrating yourself with the broth 😀Read More »

Gord’s Place

This sports bar is located right by the municipal buildings in Downtown St. Catharines. There is also plenty of parking on the street right outside the restaurant. Situated in a corner lot, Gord’s Place also has a patio in front of the building. The restaurant is spacious with the bar and dining area on the left and pool tables on the right. We were seated at the high tables in front of the bar with plenty of TVs to distract me from my company.Read More »

Crispy Chicken Wrap | $12.25

Symposium Cafe

My friends have been raving about this restaurant in Guelph and they finally opened one in Ancaster. The restaurant is easy to spot, located right off Wilson Street. Their parking lot is huge, but weirdly designed. Inside, it has high ceilings with dark and sophisticated decor. The warm lighting is comforting and the staff are very friendly and attentive.Read More »

West Coast Sandwich | $12.49

What A Bagel

It’s located on Spadina and south of Richmond Street. Not a lot of parking around but easily accessible by streetcar. Sally and I came here on a beautiful warm afternoon but we chose to sit inside instead. Inside you’ll find  tables and chairs in the dining area and a long counter to order if you’re just taking it to go. We sat by the window at the far end of the restaurant where we watched people come and go at the take-out counter. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was energetic.Read More »

The Burnt Tongue

A small restaurant that only serves burgers, soups and salads. You go in, order your food, sit down and wait for your food to be served to you. It’s a casual little restaurant with simple methods and simple food. The restaurant is located across the street from the Vietnamese restaurant, Pho Dau Bo on Canon Street in Downtown Hamilton.Read More »
