I took my grandparents and parents here for a celebration dinner. The environment and atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The decor wasn’t cheesy, it was sophisticated, simple and beautiful. The waiters are all polite and observant. Onto the food!

We started with Salad and Miso Soup. Not much to say about it, both were fresh and straightforward.

Then came the mains, Sushi Delux. When we eat sushi, we mainly focus on the freshness of the fish and barely pay attention to the rice, right? Well, this sushi rice caught me off guard and surprised me! Although the fish was still the star, the sushi rice was the runner up. They put the same love into the quality and flavour of the rice as they did into the freshness of the fish. It just blew my mind because I’ve never paid so much attention to sushi rice in Canada. Ok, rant over.
The other mains were BBQ Pork Ramen and Black cod and Steak Bento Box. The pork from the ramen was a bit over done. The soup and ramen were perfect though. Deep flavours, but still delicate. The black cod was super delicious, but it came in a dinky portion. We ordered a medium rare steak which turned out to be medium.. The bento box also came with thick slices of tuna and salmon sashimi, 3 california rolls and tempura. Unfortunately, for the price of $32.99, it wasn’t worth it.

We also ordered Pork Katsu drenched in curry. The pork was nice, but the curry was even nicer. It also comes with rice, it’s just buried under all the delicious saucy goodness.
And lastly, we finished off with a complimentary Almond Pudding. It was almond-y and light. A great dessert to finish off the meal. I loved that everything was delicate and nothing was over seasoned or overpowering. I didn’t feel heavy/greasy after the meal, but I was definitely stuffed. Also, everything was presented beautifully!
